The idea is to write it so that people hear it, and it slides through the brain and goes straight to the heart.

Notice: We're changing our start time from 6:30 to 6:00 pm starting in February 2020 / 3rd Wednesday of the Month
OPN holds general meetings at 6:00 pm on the third Wednesday of every month at New Traditions Fair Trade Café. Most months we feature a published poet as a reader. General meetings open with an Open-mic for half an hour. All readers are asked to limit their readings to 3 minutes. If you have one or two short poems you'd like to share with us, come early (6:00 pm or so) and put your name on the sign-up sheet.
We often have books of poetry available for free or for a small donation. Members and non-members alike are encouraged to join us for an evening of poetry in all its forms, and non-members will find other forms available for membership! You can also find information about joining on our Membership page.
